Caley and Matthew will be getting married this summer. They are currently living in Ottawa, with their families being from all over they decided Collingwood was the place to get married for them. We started their E-session just outside of Collingwood in the Blue mountains and then headed to Craigleith beach ending the session at the Collingwood docks. The light was really nice but left us really fast. Sometimes I wish you could just pause a moment so that you can full take it all in and then hit play again when you are ready. Caley & Matthew are a really sweet couple and I can see myself getting teary-eyed as they say their vows. I am sure I won’t be the only one.
We met Emily and Darren over a year ago at the Midland area bridal show. From the first meeting, we knew they were a great couple who just wanted to have lots of fun on their wedding day. Their wedding took place at Emily’s parents place in Perkinsfield. Her parents have a backyard that is a wonderful collection of antiques and older buildings. The day was relaxed and fun just what they were hoping for.
Hello, You might be wondering what happened to the posts that are linked to Facebook and Twitter. This past weekend we had a huge issue with our blog and things are now fixed but in the process some past articles have gone missing. In the coming weeks we will be re-posting the weddings that are missing as well as adding lots more from the sessions that we photographed this past year.
Now on to the show! This past weekend we were away in Gravenhurst at the Muskoka Wedding Show. We had a great time meeting vendors and lots of brides! The show was a hit. The show had tasting’s through out the two days and we both had some wonderful treats like prosciutto wrapped shrimp with basil (Christine Bib Catering) and lovely cranberry wine ( Muskoka Lake Winery).
We just wanted to say Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth.
I just received Sam & Aaron’s guest book back from our book printers and I am so excited! It looks great and fits really well with their black and white theme. Don’t take my word for it here it is:
Jamey & Gord, What can I say? You guys are great. I really feel like we have made two great friends. Thanks for being you! Okay, I can think of what to say now- you two are the most sincere people I have ever met.
Jamey & Gord planned there wedding down to the very last detail. From flowers, seating charts to venue every thing was perfect. There ceremony and reception took place at one location Vespra Hills Golf Course. Vespra Hills is such a great hidden gem which was only completely in the last few years. This being the biggest wedding they had had there to date the staff pulled out all the stops to keep everything flowing through the day. Jamey & Gord were so relaxed through out the day that they seemed to be able to take in every moment.
I grew up in London, Ontario which is where I first met Craig back in the halls of STA our high school. We hung out with many of the same friends. Fast forward more then ten years and we became friends on Facebook. Things had really changed since the days of high school, Craig had joined the military and met his one true love Jennie. They met at work and were planning their wedding, which was difficult as Craig was all over the country working.
Their day turned out perfect! They were married at Westhaven golf course in London. Jennie and Craig both have such great families and friends. The amount of people who had travelled such great distances to be there for them on their day was amazing. All had such wonderful stories to tell about their days together.
Samantha & Aaron’s big day is coming up in September. We had all decided that May would be a great month to photograph their engagement session, the weather had other idea’s. When we woke up in the Sunday morning of there session there was a fine layer of snow covering the ground. Yes, Snow in May! We drove around a lot to different locations in order to warm up and change up the scenery. In the middle of the session we stopped at Tim’s to warm up and chat, which was great to get to know Sam & Aaron better. They are using their engagement images for an signature book which I will preview here in a few weeks.
Just thinking back to that snowy day makes me cold!
Andrew & I were very excited to photograph in Algonquin. Being an avid outdoor couple what could be better then photographing in an amazing setting with another avid outdoor couple and their friends? Well, nothing really.
Their wedding took place at Arowhon Pines. (Arowhon Pines is a small, rustic 50-room summer resort located in the heart of Algonquin Park, a huge nature and wildlife preserve.) The staff alone were amazing and really made sure every detail was taken care of. The resort it’s self is truly amazing if you are ever in Algonquin during the summer stop in for Breakfest or Dinner. I know I will be back sometime this summer.
Megan & Torsten first met at summer camp. Megan’s father was the camp doctor at the all boys Camp Ponacka. Apparently, Megan picked Torsten out on the first day and the soon became a couple , and as they say the rest is history.
Their wedding day started out rainy and wet but as the day progressed it got sunnier and we had a beautiful sunset by dinnertime. They got ready at different ends of the resort so as not to see each other and met for the lakeside ceremony.
The contest is open to anyone, yes anyone who has planned a wedding or gotten married. All you need to do is send out an email to us with a tip how you planned your day. Don’t forget to include you and your spouses name and when you were married. Piece of cake!
What helped?
What to avoid?
Great idea’s or planning tips?
Also, what was your best moment of the day?
We have decided to extend the date of contest closing for a few different reasons but number one was our brides & grooms who are still getting married this summer, who want to enter. The contest close date will now be the 29th of August. Just because it has been extended don’t delay in getting your entries in. It won’t be extended again.
Here’s one we have recieved from Barb Sherwood – “My best moment of the day was walking down the ailse with my new husband Mike. I was so happy in that moment, it felt like I was walking on a cloud. Planning tip: Hire a wedding planner for the day of to make sure everything goes smoothly. Best thing I did.”
Remember all for writing an email you could win a Married Portrait Session, a Trash the dress session or a Hundred dollar Gift Certificate!
Also, you will be helping so many future brides out there with your great advice.
