FAQ's, Hear, Speak, See
Q:
Do you have a studio and what are your hours?

A: Yes, our fireside studio is open Monday, Wednesday & Friday though the week. Please call ahead to book an appointment.

Q:
How far will you travel for portraits or weddings and what are your travel fees?

A: We travel all over Ontario and to locations further by special request. For weddings we travel up to 50 km in any direction before we charge extra fees. Give us a call or email for an exact quote. For  on location portrait sessions our travel fees are included in the session price.

Q:
What is a retainer and why is this non-refundable?

A: A retainer of $500 is used to secure your wedding date and makes us unavailable to other clients. Upon receipt of your retainer, we will turn away clients who enquire about your date.  For portraits the retainer is 30% of your session or package fee and again is used to guarantee your date and time for your portrait session.

Q:
Will you hold my wedding date untiI we are able to meet with you?

A: Unfortunately, we are not able to hold any date without a retainer fee.

Q:
What is a Proof or Proof CD? How is it different from a High-Res DVD?

A: A proof is a preview image. It is a color corrected, unretouched file made for viewing rather than printing. A proof CD is a collection of your preview images from a session or wedding that you use to select images for enlargement or for album creation. From these selections we digitally re-master each file and create vivid prints, custom thank you’s, albums and many other products that we offer.

A High-Res DVD of Digital Negatives are all of your preview images on DVD but in a full size Jpeg format ready for printing. These files come with our copyright permission to print for personal use and to share with family and friends. Some restrictions on these images are their use for profit or promotional material personal or otherwise.

Q:
How long after the wedding or session do we receive our proofs?

A: It takes about 4-6 weeks for weddings and about 2-4 weeks for portrait sessions for us to finalize and proof your images. Our busiest seasons are typically late summer through the fall and of course the weeks leading up to Christmas. Please be paitent with us we want the best for you.

Q:
What is your policy on rescheduling a portrait or engagement session?

A: We ask for 24 to 48 hours notice for rescheduling sessions. We understand that things do come up and we will do our best to reschedule for a later date.

Q:
How long before my wedding should I book my engagement photos?

A: We recommend a minimum of eight weeks before your day. It really does depend on your circumstances and we will always do our best to accommodate you.

Q:
What is your shooting style?

A: Not afraid to get dirty, stand on high objects or in cold water!  We don’t really catagorize ourselves in any particular way. The best thing to do is have a look for yourself at our portfolio and decide if our style is what you like.

Q:
Thanks, this info is great but, what is the process from here?

A: Well first of all thanks for having a look at our website!  Next, give us a call or email to make sure we are still available for your special day.  Then we will set up a time for a consultation. Where we want to hear more about you, your plans and how we can help.  From there  it is on to booking.  In order to book your special day we will need a signed contract and a retainer. Once booked feel free to contact us as your plans come together,  for engagement session idea’s and for vendor referrals. We will get together again- if not for an engagement session- about four weeks before your wedding date to go over all the details.
